Girl with the Black Panther Tattoo

Spotted this lovely lady at an outdoor festival we went to yesterday. I was trying to take the pics “incognito-style” but she spotted me (check the last pic). She was actually modeling the body jewelry for one of the vendors (and I cannot for the life of me find the business card she gave me!). I hope she sees this post so I can update it with the information! Come on universe!

So the stars aligned and our subject, who goes by the name of Alicia,  was modeling jewelry for Independent Accents, a budget-friendly boutique who specializing in body jewelry (nice!!). Check them out HERE!

Elsa Hosk & Marianna Santana for Free People “Through the Decades” Book by David Bellemere

I’m lovin’ these photos, featuring models Elsa Hosk & Marianna Santana for Free People’s “Through the Decades” Book by David Bellemere. I can’t wait for the book to come out, definitely seems coffee-table worthy and definitely captures the essence of the brand.

Style Inspiration: 90s Grunge, Rihanna’s “We found Love” Video

She starts off with…

It’s like you’re  s c r e a m i n g  but no one can hear. You almost feel ashamed that someone could that be that important, that without them you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless like nothing can save you. And when it’s over and it’s gone, you almost wish that you could have all that bad stuff back so you could have the good.”

Has anyone ever had that moment in their life where they could relate to that?

*raises hand*

When I first heard this song on the radio, this video was NOT what I was expecting! I imagined the same ol’ club banger/bubble gum pop video with the roller skates and such. But no, this chick busted out with skate boards,  poppin’ pills in dirty studio apartments in acid wash jeans, biker boots and torn pantyhose with a hot, grungy British boyfriend who she seems to have amazing chemistry with. The love affair, littered with substance abuse, portrays the dark and euphoric  aspects of being in love that a lot of people can probably relate to.

Check out the video—–> HERE

I wonder who the stylist was..Her ensembles had a 90s influence with some on-trend pieces for the current season. As far as jewelry I’m loving the layered necklaces, multiple rings on one hand, the miniature cross earrings and stacked bracelets. Below is an outfit suggestion to emulate Rihanna’s look for this video,  all clothing courtesy of TopShop, in recognition of the Brits (with the exception of that Zara blouse)!

Loooove this blouse from Zara. There are a lot of items I have my eyes on in that store…O_O

This LOVE double finger ring is from our store and I thought it was so appropriate with this look! This one and this one also work!

Fall 2011 Outfit Suggestion: What to Wear to a Music Festival

Hey all!

Summer’s slowly coming to an end, and its about that time to start trying to transition summer outfits in to fall. The best way to do this is layering! I’m not ready to give up the bold colors of summer for fall’s nudes just yet, and feather earrings are still gonna be hot next season, along with leopard prints. I was recently stuck on 12 hr train ride and decided to give polyvore another go ’round (its been months), and came up with a look that would be appropriate for a concert I’m going to this weekend (anyone going to the Rock The Bell’s concert in NY tomorrow? If so holla!)

I’m not sure if I’m bold enough to pull off the above ensemble. I’m more likely to be seen in a tank top, jeans, messenger bag and Bisoux jewels. I’ll be the one taking pics of people who look a lot more exciting!

Have a good one =)

SN: I couldn’t figure out how to remove the drag box above…my polvore skills are a little rusty, but I’ll do better next time, promise!

Vanessa Simmon’s Ring-Bracelet

Vanessa Simmons looked amazing at VH1′s Save The Music Foundation event in Beverly Hills! I Love the color blocking effect of this outfit, the haircut and especially her ring bracelet, which is really on trend right now! I love the particular one she’s wearing but couldn’t figure out who the designer was, but If you’re looking for something similar check out the options below!

I adore Nicole Riche’s jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960, and her Double Diamond Ring-Bracelet is right on trend. It’s currently on sale on tobi.com for $79 (down from $113…heyyy…)

I love Camille Peace’s “Happy Ending” Ring Bracelet! It’s an instant outfit maker, and for $59 it won’t break the bank =) She sells different variations on her online store so check it out for more options!

And of COURSE I would be amiss not to share with you all one of the ring bracelets we currently sell at the Bisoux Store. I wear the antique gold version all the time and get many a compliment on it! It’s a simple yet eye catching addition to any ensemble. Check out the silver version below, only $24 on our site!

I had to add this photo of Vanessa from a photoshoot she did for Beauty Is Diverse website, she makes me want to cut my hair! #notetoself

Well, thats all folks, have a good one!

Arlenis Sosa For Yo Dona May 2011

Dominican model Arlenis Sosa posed in tropical swimwear for Yo Dano May 2011 issue.  Stylist Amparo Utrilla used simple styles with colorful printed accessories and jewels to give life to the shoot.  I really like the camera angles photographer Miguel Reveriego took too.

Fab Find: Thrifted Colorful Triangular Studs

I found these colorful triangular studs at a thrift store in Baltimore, MD, for only $1.99! I wear them all the time to add a touch of color and style to an everyday outfit. Sorry for the picture quality. My camera broke so I’m working with my Black Berry.

I was having a little fun with Picnik.com photo shop :)

Love,

Stephanie

Shayla Cox’s Guerilla Fashion Show, Ceramic Jewelry + Spring’s Hottest Trends!

Talk about impact!

Could you imagine minding your own business around town then witnessing these girls stampeding towards you? With the sidewalk as their runway, these ladies did their thing rockin’ spring’s hottest trends (nudes, pastels, flowy skirts and 40s inspired menswear), providing the perfect back drop to feature Shayla Cox’s ceramic jewelry. I’m lovin the simplistic approach to her jewelry line, basic lines and shapes but each piece delivers its impact by size, texture and color. I also appreciate that they layer so well together.  Much props to stylist Pamela Shepard for putting these looks together. Frresshhhh!!!!

Photographed by one of my fav’s, Kwesi Abbensetts

…and it looks like they got the June Ambrose stamp of approval! She is so faaaab btw!

check out this video with these girls in action!
